Before you apply to Epic we would strongly advise you to read this page in its entirety and make certain you understand what you are applying for and what we will expect during our evaluation and later as a member if you are accepted. If you have any questions please contact any of the officers during the morning or afternoon on Eldre'Thalas. After you have read the page if you feel you would fit in well with the guild please continue on to our guild application. We typically process applications within 3 days

Raid Schedule
We are a daytime (US) raiding guild. If you are a night player you may find a few members logged on but we do not schedule events after 2pm server time, though we may extend raids occassionally depending on member availability.

Monday 10:45 AM - 2pm Server Time
Wednesday 10:45 AM - 2pm Server Time
Thursday 10:45 AM - 2pm Server Time
Friday 10:45 AM - 2pm Server Time

Rolling restarts on Tuesday are considered bonus days. When they are announced on the server you will usually find a post in the forum the prior night notifying members of an in-game calendar event that has been created.

Current Raid Group and Needs
Epic is presently a guild that is progressing in 10 man content. We pug into 25 man runs when they are available, but at this time we are primarily concentrating on 10 man Ulduar. We continue to have good players join our guild and we expect to form a second 10 man group in the near future. We will continue to develop the guild with the idea of reaching 25 man content. Dual-specced toons are highly desirable as it allows us much more flexibility in raid mix and will certainly result in more raid time as the schedule becomes more crowded.

Rogue
Epic has one raid-ready rogue on our roster and while he's a good player, he is rarely on for guild runs. We have managed to find a strong rogue who pugs in with us regularly, but for obvious reasons we would like to have one or two more members with rogue toons who understand their class and how to bring the most value to a raid group.

Plate DPS
Well played, desirable DPS classes would include Fury Warrior, Death Knight or Paladin. In particular with plate wearers we would be very interested in dual-spec'd toons capable of raid roles in either spec or very close.

Priest
We are looking for a member with a Priest who is comfortable in both DPS and healing, reasonably geared, either dual-specced or willing to take that step and work to develop the character to fulfill either role.

The following information is posted for both your well-being and ours. By taking the time to read this you will insure both a prompt review of your application and a successful membership in Epic.

First and primarily - don't be a tool. While we don't have a significant number of applicants who fail this basic requirement, occassionally one does show up. We don't rave on Vent at each other (at least not regularly), we don't tolerate drama fruits and/or loot wines of any vintage.

Second, if you sign up for a raid then you should show up on time. We are fairly tolerant and don't mind waiting around occassionally... but try not to make it a regular thing. Yes there is real life and once in a while anyone can miss a scheduled run, but if you can get logged in to a computer and post us a message in the forum it will be be very much appreciated.

If you are going to wear it then make sure its enchanted and gemmed. Everyone in the guild works to make certain they have maximized their character's potential and people who are too lazy to chant their gear will be frowned upon. The same goes for raid consumables. We are a guild, we have resources -- ask.

Epic only recruits adults and while this guarantees nothing, it does help us to build a group that matches up with our mindset. There is nothing wrong with having raging hormone issues and we hope you thoroughly enjoy your time with them, but sadly those days are past for us.

Occasionally someone will do something that causes them to earn Fejer demerits. These demerits are not cumulative in the typical sense, but excessive collection has been known to cause a rather painful red rash to grow in the damp areas of your body.

Over the last month or so we have basically allowed rolls between members for main-spec first, then off-spec. Basic rolling is easy and we have been together long enough that we almost never have any type of loot issue. We are generous with new recruits, allowing them to immediately roll for gear without any probation period. In the past when we were gearing our core daytime group we used the Loot Council system with the following criteria:

  • 1) Has the player made an effort to gear themselves up in Heroics, Crafting Items, etc?
  • 2) Is the item a larger upgrade for the player over another which in turn helps the raid as a whole?
  • 3) Does the player come to the raids prepared? I.E. Do they bring flasks, food, potions etc?
  • 4) Does the player attend a close to equal amount of raids as the other players who are bidding on the same item?
  • 5) Has one of the players bidding on an item already received an upgrade?
  • 6) Does this piece of gear give a player a set bonus whereas it might not give another player who would get it a set bonus?
  • 7) Are all the players bidding on the items mains?

Generally speaking we raid regularly enough that getting drops is not an issue.
